Screen repair

A torn screen is not a reason for a new window.

Mesh rips, frames bend, and pets lean on the same corner until it gives. If the window still opens and locks, we repair the screen and leave the glass alone.

We look at the frame you have. A straight frame gets new mesh. A bent frame gets a new screen. If the sash or the lock is the real problem, we say so.

Financing options

The screen

What the visit usually is.

Bring us the room and what happened to the screen. One window or a whole floor, we measure at the house and match the frame that is there.

  • New mesh

When the frame is still straight

The old spline comes out, the mesh goes on tight, and the screen goes back in the track or on the clips.

  • A new frame

When the corners are split or the frame is bent

Rescreening a twisted frame just tears again. We make a screen to the opening instead of forcing the old one.

  • Window or patio

Hung, slider, casement, and patio doors

The hardware differs. A casement screen is not a slider screen. We fit the one that belongs on that opening.

Questions

Before you book the screen.

Do you come to the house?
Yes. Screens are measured on site. A width taken from memory is how they come back too tight or too loose.
Can you match a heavier mesh?
Standard mesh is the usual repair. If you want a heavier mesh, tell us before the visit and we will say whether we can get it for that frame.
What if the window itself is the problem?
A screen will not fix fogged glass, a sash that will not stay up, or a lock that misses. That is a window repair, and we will tell you on the same look. See window repair
How many can you do at once?
One screen or a set. Tell us how many when you book so we bring enough mesh and frame.

Trust

The people who measure the windows are the ones who install them.

A replacement window stays in the wall for a long time. You should know who is doing the work, and that they are still in the Niagara Region after the job is finished.

  • 30+ years on residential work

Windows, doors, and restoration in houses across the region, not a crew brought in for the week.

  • Fully insured

Insured for the residential work we do on your home.

  • Measured at the house

Openings are measured on site, then the windows are ordered to those sizes.

  • Warranty in writing

The manufacturer warranty and what we stand behind on the installation are on the quote.

Tell us which screens are torn.

A room and a count is enough. We will come out, measure the frames, and put the mesh back on the windows you already have.

If the look turns into new windows, ask about financing when we review that quote. See financing
